This is a sad day having to say farewell to a long time friend and colleague, Steve Fee.
Steve started in BUA in 1966 in the traffic department, load control. I met him during a turnaround in Karachi circa 71 when Steve had jumped onto a Caledonian charter for Singapore having met up with his sailor brother there. We became lifelong friends and colleagues shortly after when Cally/BUA joined and I returned to Gatwick. Steve went on to become the back bone of the BCal Traffic Management team in a variety of positions after serving a few years in Lagos as the airport manager.
Following the BA takeover Steve ended up with Continental airlines before taking over and expanding his own Airport Security company running it with Vanda for many years and eventually selling it.
We remained friends throughout and it has been a sad few weeks and sincere condolences go out to Vanda and Steve's children during this difficult time.

Very sad to hear about Steve. He was Airport Manager at Lagos when I was based there in the late 70s and I was lucky to have such a competent person in charge. You needed a sense of humour to survive at Lagos and Steve had this in abundance. My condolences to Vanda and his family. RIP

I was sorry to hear Steve had passed on. I used to travel to Lagos frequently as I was responsible for the Lagos Catering unit while he was there. Steve was always helpful and supportive with all the problems that could happen as regards to catering, as well as having huge responsibilities in running the BCAL operation. He was always calm and measured with whatever the problem and my sincere condolences to his family. He was a true professional. RIP Steve

So very sorry to hear this sad news. It was privilege to have worked with Steve in the 1980’s on Check-In. As a very young, somewhat naïve airline newbie Steve was always very professional and kind towards me. He would always support us if we had any difficult passengers. My thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time. With sympathies.
