I knew Rita Quinn well in the period 1979-1984. The company was then expanding rapidly and we were recruiting large numbers of new cabin crew every month. Rita already enjoyed a reputation for setting very high standards and maintaining strong discipline in the workspace. She was a natural for one of the newly created posts of Cabin Staff Superintendent and in that role specialised in the management of junior cabin staff. Her performance in this was superb and there were many hundreds of young people whose careers had an excellent start under her care. She was a true professional. Rest in peace, Rita.

From Lynn Chandler
You are absolutely right Charles. Rita was a true professional. She interviewed me. I was young and naïve, I remember thinking "when I grow up" I want to be as glamorous as her. RIP Rita

Sad news indeed. Rita was so serene. I remember her teaching us to stand, sit and walk elegantly as well as how to get in and out of a car. Rest in peace beautiful lady.

From Karen Strawson: Sad news about Rita…she was a lovely, popular lady.

From Irenee Rowe nee Smith.
I started my ab initial training with BUA in December 1968 and Rita and about 5 others from British Eagle were on my course including my late beloved roommate Carole Moyle (after that Dickson). We called Rita "The Mighty Quinn" as she was obviously going places with her experience. Sue Wilcox also on this course and Penny Heggie, still have the photos. Rest in peace Rita.

From Rhoda Pearman
I joined BUA in January 1971 and was met at LGW by Rita looking immaculate in her BUA uniform and white gloves of course! My condolences go to your family and may you, RIP Rita.

From George Banks
I knew Rita quite well as we (catering and cabin services) were all working together above the Bonded Store at one time and as Rita was a route controller, we did quite a few route trips together. She was always very positive and professional with the cabin crew and always  motivational. We had one duty trip to Casablanca and Rita was quite impressed with the caterers and the quality of the food they supplied for BCAL. After she retired we kept in touch via E-mail as many of her BCAL friends did. Rita was also respected by British Eagle for whom she was a senior hostess. RIP Rita

From Lilian Bainton: So sad, she was lovely. She trained me in 1972, RIP beautiful lady.

From Jenny Maidstone
I will always be grateful to Rita for the support she gave me when I started in training. Rita was very professional, always good at her job and certainly made a big contribution to BCAL's excellent customer service. RIP Rita

From Erika Browning: My condolences, I remember her very well from my 12 years in Cabin Services.
