Adrian Remembered

From Roger Botting
Adrian joined the RAF after leaving school and after 5 years service joined British Caledonian in Load Control. In 1974 Adrian became a Loadmaster on the 707 freighter fleet until 1980 when he moved to St Louis to open the cargo operations for the new destination. After BCAL closed the St Louis office Adrian moved to Atlanta and ran the cargo operations until he took early retirement from British Airways.

Adrian met his wife Ala in Atlanta, who also worked for BCAL, and started a family having a daughter Caroline and a son Robert who between them gave Adrian and Ala 6 grandchildren.

I knew Adrian as I worked in crewing and we managed the load masters rosters. Adrian was always helpful and professional as were all the loadmasters; they worked long hours and not always in the best conditions. RIP

I first had the pleasure of meeting Adrian in 1982 when I moved to ATL. Working with him was an absolute delight as he ran a very professional operation due to his loadmaster skills and knowledge. He definitely helped the cargo sales team and thanks to him everything ran extremely smooth. My condolences to all of his family especially his wife Ala. A very nice lady who worked in PAX sales. RIP Adrian.
