The following photos were kindly sent in by Richard and I am pleased to be able to show them here
G-AOVH at Southend in Oct 1966, shortly after being rolled-out from an Aviation Traders check and sporting the red touches to the Golden Lion
A super image of Caledonian One-Eleven G-AWWY. It paid its first visit to Southend on 27 May 1969 for a Check 1 (I think) by ATL and I caught it outside their hangar the following day. Name 'Isle of Iona' just discernible on the forward fuselage.
Delivered new to Caledonian on 31 Mar 1969, G-AWWY was named ‘Isle of Iona’ and visited Southend on 27 May for attention by Aviation Traders. I shot it outside the ATL hangar on 28 May. At one time it was intended to become G-AXMK. It became part of the Caledonian-BUA fleet in Nov 1970 and of British Caledonian in Nov 1971, serving until the end of 1973. It was leased to Austral as LV-PSW, then LV-JNU from Jan-Feb 1974, reverted to G-AWWY and then went to Austral again, as LV-LHT from Oct 1975 until Sep 1992, when it was retired. It was broken up at Moron in Oct 1994
