British United Air Ferries came into being on 1st January 1963 when the names of Channel Air Bridge and Silver City disappeared. Though, the Carvair fleet would be seen operating with BUA titles and livery up to the formation of British Air Ferries.
British Air Ferries, as a separate division, came into being 1st October 1967. In May 1968 Air Holdings sold BUA to British & Commonwealth Shipping, but Air Holdings retained British Air Ferries thereby cutting BAF’s ties with BUA, the Carvair fleet flew on with their new titles.
