Sadly Roy passed away on Christmas day 2014. Our sincere condolences go out to Sylvia, Roy's family, friends and former colleagues. Roy had been ill for some time and slipped away in the late afternoon.
Roy worked as a Passenger Fares Superintendent for BUA in the late 1960's and attended the 1970 IATA conference in Honolulu for BUA, before progressing to Passenger Tariffs Manager for BCal. Roy retired in the late summer of 1987.
A Service of Remembrance for Roy was held on 16th January 2015 at St Andrews Church, Ferring. A reception was help afterwards.
From Jeremy Scott
Have the fondest memories of Roy who took my under his wing as a young innocent placement student and initiated me in the workings of IATA…he even had me dress up in a rates negotiation meeting with Lufthansa wearing a funny hat..to get them to agree a new fare structure. A true gent respected by all and very fondly remember by a now mature student and I am sure by all at IATA.
