A celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the first flight of the VC10 - the largest aircraft ever put into series production in the UK - from Brooklands on the 29th June 1962, featuring the opening of a new VC10 exhibition in the restored fuselage of G-ARVM.
We look forward to welcoming former aircrew, cabin crew and people who built and serviced the VC10, together with anyone interested in this iconic aircraft, to the celebration. The draft outline of the day, hosted by Max Kingsley-Jones, Editor of Airline Business, is as follows:
The day's events
10.30am Welcome & coffee
10.45am Speakers including Chris Orlebar, Mike Bannister, Alastair Pugh, Wing Commander Kevin Brookes and other pilots and engineers
12.00 Exhibition Opening & Group Photograph
12.45pm Lunch
1.30pm Afternoon session including speakers from the floor, reminiscences and films
3.00pm Tea & VC10 Birthday Cake
