The following photo was kindly sent in by Audrey, and shows the Queen visiting a BCal stand in Lusaka during her Zambian Tour 1979 and I am pleased to be able to show it here
The photo was taken when the Queen visited the BCAL stand in the British Pavilion at the Lusaka Agricultural Show during her Zambian Tour in 1979.
We had displayed a replica set of the Crown Jewels which were loaned to us by the British Tourist Board, but sadly the Queen commented that she had the seen the same thing on a visit to Botswana.
In the photograph to the left of the Queen is Alan Varley, then Manager - Zambia; myself (Audrey Bateman) in the back corner and Jane Nelson (now Jane Rodgers), from the Lusaka office to the right of the picture. The other gentlemen were the Queen's escorts.
