.

People may wonder what Alastair Pugh, The Beach Boyz and the BCal light aircraft, RECW, have in common.

Well, following lots of co-ordination by Richard Heywood, all were at Blackbushe Airport in Mid-September that afternoon.

Alastair was going for a flight in RECW to celebrate his 89th Birthday.

RECW was there for a photo call with The Beach Boyz to promote them and their rendition of Caledonian Girls

And later the Band joined by Paula and Anne were off to Camberley to perform their show.

So a busy day all round, the weather pretty much played along with things and I am pleased to say we have some photos, taken by Richard Heywood and Chris Bearman, below.

And I am pleased to report the Beach Boyz concert that evening, with Caledonian Girls, went off very well too

And my thanks to Richard and Chris for kindly sending in their photos and notes

Below we have some photos of CW taxiing with Alastair on board, and apart from the easy bits (take off and landing) he did all of the flying as CW did a figure of eight circuit over the area.
.........."Yes, very good.......now when do we order a 747?"         Alastair and Robin discuss fleet options (maybe)
